Healthy UC Davis funds projects that support our strategic goals to improve the overall health and well-being of our community. For the 2023-25 funding cycle, Healthy UC Davis combined its efforts with Student Affairs to fund the following projects:
Providers with UC Davis Student Health and Counseling Services, or SHCS, will be prescribing nature to their patients as part of their holistic care regimen.
This grant helps champion a culture of health and well-being throughout the UC Davis community by advocating for an institutional practice of increased support through family visits to campus so that Native American students can more easily thrive academically and socially.
This project will provide several informational sessions discussing suicide, research and tools on prevention, and how to fight suicide in collaboration with AFSP and UC Davis mental health resources.
Kicking off an accessible pathway network to connect the open spaces and programs of the SLLC on West Campus, Phase I of this project will establish two accessible entryways, an outdoor classroom space, and make accessibility improvements to an adjacent, student-built greenhouse in the Orchard Park neighborhood.
Learning to ride a bike offers participants a life-changing new skill. One that not only offers benefits for physical and mental health, but it’s also good for the environment! We will provide in-person, on-bike, bike riding classes for the 6% of our community who do not know how to ride.
This initiative project aims to address food insecurity and promote personal hygiene by providing essential items to those in need. The Mobile Pantry will bring sustenance and hygiene products directly to the heart of our campus, ensuring accessibility and convenience for all.
This project aims to create an engaging variety of resources for students to make the basics of creating meals within budget and time restraints easy and fun. It will include videos, live events and webinars as well as interactive worksheets and peer-to-peer communication.
GPS seeks to increase available social support from peers within the graduate student community of UC Davis – benefiting students psychologically, academically, and professionally.
