Healthy UC Davis Funding Opportunities

Background

Since 2017, Healthy UC Davis has offered funding for projects that support the health and well-being of UC Davis staff, students, and academics. Projects have focused on health promotion, programming, institutional practices, built environments and more. 

In partnership with the Equity in Mental Health Fund, Healthy UC Davis is seeking proposals that support the health and well-being of UC Davis community members. Special consideration will be given to projects that focus on diversity, equity, mental health and inclusion. Projects should also meet priority areas and guidelines set forth by Healthy UC Davis.

Available Funding Opportunities

Beginning in January 2023, three grant opportunities will be available to further advance and support the health and well-being of UC Davis community members:

1. Healthy UC Davis Project Grant (open to all UC Davis affiliates)

In our 2023 grant cycle, special consideration will be given to proposals that apply goals, objectives, and recommended action items outlined in the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Strategic Vision. Special consideration will also be given to projects that address equity in mental health for students. 

  • Projects seeking funding through this grant must support the health and well-being of UC Davis community members. 
  • UC Davis staff, academics, students are encouraged to apply.
  • The deadline to complete this application is Friday, February 17, 2023.

2. Equity in Mental Health Grant (open to all UC Davis affiliates)

UC Davis has received funds from the UC Office of the President’s Graduate, Undergraduate and Equity Affairs (GUEA) unit to support the development of evidence-based strategies to address the escalating behavioral health crisis among students and its associated equity gaps. Projects seeking funding through this grant should address equity in mental health for students and consider one or more of the following:  

  • Directly supporting underserved students  
  • Promoting a culture of well-being on campus 
  • Promoting student academic success  
  • Providing clear measurable outcomes 

The maximum amount of funds that can be requested is $20,000. This fund is available to all current UC Davis affiliated community members. Student Affairs units are strongly encouraged to apply. The deadline to complete this application is Friday, February 17, 2023.

3. Student Equity in Mental Health Programming Fund (open to students only)

Applicants seeking funding through the Equity in Mental Health fund should promote opportunities for engagement, connectedness and community supporting equity in mental health initiatives for UC Davis students. Applicants should consider:

  • Directly supporting underserved students 
  • Promoting a culture of well-being on campus 
  • Promoting student academic success 
  • Providing clear measurable outcomes

UC Davis undergraduate, graduate and professional program students are encouraged to apply. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the academic year.
