Students Conduct Environmental Butt Scans
Student volunteers conducted quarterly environmental scans in which they targeted known “hot spots” on campus. Students went to each location on day 1 and picked up and counted all cigarette butts in the area. They went back 48 hours later and counted again. Some alarming results are shown around the International Center as well as along the bike path near the cows and Tercero.
* Group stopped counting at 100, but indicated there were more than 100 in this location
