Become an Ambassador

2017-2018 Smokefree Ambassadors

Ambassadors

Breathe Free, in partnership with Heath Education and Promotion, coordinates the Smoke and Tobacco Free Student Ambassador Internship with graduate and undergraduate students. Based on best practices from other Universities that have smoke and/or tobacco free policies, an ambassador’s primary function is to encourage an environment of compliance for the UC Davis Smoke and Tobacco Free Policy through ongoing peer-to-peer interaction.

Ambassadors show leadership, professionalism, compassion and the desire to promote and celebrate a healthier campus. If you would like to learn more about future Smoke and Tobacco Free Student Ambassador internship opportunities, please email: breathefree@ucdavis.edu

Adopt-a-block

Adopt-a-block

“If you’re looking for a fun service project, check out the Adopt-a-Block program here at UC Davis! Adopt-a-Block gives groups the opportunity to help beautify our campus and surrounding community. Participating groups choose their ideal community block, coordinate with members to schedule clean-up times, and return as needed throughout the quarter. We will provide gloves and garbage bags.

If you are interested in participating, please email breathefree@ucdavis.edu

The Emergency Medicine Research Associates Program (EMRAP) provides a unique opportunity for undergraduate students to become involved in the clinical research endeavors of the UCDMC while learning about healthcare operations within this dynamic work environment. The emergency department carries out multiple different research studies and other projects at any given time including the Tobacco Cessation project. Students participating in EMRAP are helping to address tobacco use in and around the Emergency Medicine Department. If you are interested in getting involved with the clinical research endeavors of the UCDMC or helping to support the smoke and tobacco free initiative of the campus, be sure to apply to EMRAP during the next application cycle. Check out the flyer below for more information regarding upcoming application cycles and ways to get involved!
