This project will install marked walking paths with distance and directional signage on the UC Davis and UC Davis Medical Center campuses.

There will be four marked 1-mile walking paths in each campus district (Quad, Pavilion, Health Sciences and Gateway) and the Stride for Aggie Pride 5k loop marked on the UC Davis campus . At the UC Davis Medical Center campus there will be a 1-mile and a 1.5 mile marked path. A social marketing campaign will be developed to promote the benefits of walking and to provide individuals with strategies to walk more throughout their day. Finally, we will be offering a free, 6-week 5K training program for individuals that want to register for the annual Stride for Aggie Pride 5k on Sunday, April 29th.

Timeline

Involvement:

There will be focus groups conducted in early winter quarter to develop the messaging and design for the walking social marketing campaign. The campaign will have an engagement component requesting individuals to share their experience on the walking path through social media platforms. We will also recruit individuals to participate in the 5K training program and register for Stride for Aggie Pride.
