UC Davis Diabetes Prevention Program

The UC Davis Diabetes Prevention Program is a 6-month program with qualifiers to participate including BMI, lifestyle habits, and readiness to change.

The program will utilize a hybrid program that has been piloted at East Carolina University with success with weekly meetings, alternating in-person with online on the Facebook group page. The end goal is 3 - 5% weight loss at six months and 5 - 7% weight loss at twelve months. This weight loss can cut risk of developing type 2 diabetes by 58% (71% for people over 60 years old). The program is open to UC Davis staff, faculty and students.
